Henry Sibley Band has two Jazz Bands, an auditioned Jazz I and non-auditioned Jazz II. These practice and perform throughout the school year.

Auditions for Jazz I should be submitted via Charms by noon on Saturday, October 3. The current openings in Jazz I are for trumpet, saxophone and rhythm section. Jazz I will begin Monday, October 5 and the schedule is posted on the calendar. Jazz I will be performing on November 10th at the Sibley Showcase and they might be performing at the Gala concert on November 5th.

All band students are encouraged to participate in the non-auditioned Jazz II. Please sign-up with Ms. Powers in the band room! We are looking for trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano, drum set, guitar, bass, vibes, and piano students. Come one, come all!!! Jazz II will meet one morning per week. That morning will be determined based upon the member’s availability.

The activity fee for jazz band is $85.00. We hope to take both jazz bands on overnight trip this year. Fundraising such as the Poinsettia sale is a great way to raise money in a student band account that can be used toward trip costs. This will be discussed at the parent meeting on Monday, October 12th from 6:30pm-6:45pm in Warrior Hall.
